Capture the Moments

Capture the Moments

I love artwork. I have it all over my walls. If you ever go to my grandma’s house, you’ll know I come by it honestly; she has every square inch of her walls covered with artifacts, paintings, souvenirs, plates (yes plates) – everything. She loves being surrounded by her memories. I think now that my grandfather is gone, she loves those memories more than ever. She has her cupboards stuffed with mementos from her past and the shelves of the office lined with scrapbooks, from before scrapbooks were the “in” thing. She loves capturing moments.

At Pearls For Life, we understand that a lot of people roll their eyes at this generation’s obsession with capturing every moment either on camera or social media. Honesty, I don’t have a problem with it. I mean, there’s always going to be people who try to spiff up their lives for the public, but really, that’s their concern. I love what it means for my memories – it means I can capture them.

I suppose the only thing better than capturing moments, it making them.

There have been times when my parents will refer to an occasion that I was clearly too young to remember, but somehow I do, because pictures of it have transported me beyond what my memory is capable, at least beyond what my mind allows me, to remember.

Make memories with you kids. As time speeds up and my kids grow, I’m thankful that I’ve memorialized so many occasions on social media. I’m so glad that I took the time to make scrapbooks and post that silly picture and take a moment to make everyone pose and be silly and set themselves free.

Take a day and try new things with your family and track it all with pics. What a fun adventure. It’s simple, cheap and a time to experience new things and keep their memories safe.

Enjoy your life. Simply.
